House and Senate Calendars for April 3
Email or call your Senator and urge that he or she vote YES on SB 366 - Infectious Disease Elimination Programs which is on the Senate calendar for a vote this Thursday, 04/03/19.
SB 366       Infectious Disease Elimination Programs           The pilot program has proven effective in reducing opioid deaths and overdoses. Clean needle and syringe exchanges can also prevent the transmission of HIV, AIDS, viral hepatitis and other blood-borne diseases among intravenous drug users.
Also, tell your Senator you oppose SB 7070 K-12 Education which is a Senate bill with similar provisions for arming teachers found in HB 7093 scheduled for consideration on the House Floor tomorrow, April 3. See below.
Email or call your Representative and urge that he or she vote NO on HB 7093  - School Safety which is on the House calendar for a vote this Thursday, 04/03/19.
HB 7093  - School Safety       An overwhelming body of evidence indicates that arming teachers puts children and the school community at a greater risk of gun violence in our schools, and would impede the response of law enforcement to an active shooter incident. Instead, our leaders should be passing measures proven effective at reducing gun violence, like closing the background check loophole by requiring a background check on all gun sales in Florida.
