MISSION STATEMENT: To build and sustain an inclusive proactive community that will protect our environment, our freedoms and our basic human and civil rights. We are committed to an indivisible St. Johns County with liberty and justice for all.

Wednesday, October 31, 2018

Indivisible St Johns stood in solidarity with our Jewish neighbors October 30 at a candlelight vigil honoring and grieving the victims of the Tree of Life synagogue shooting.

WE STAND INDIVISIBLE

Last night several hundred members of our community turned out on short notice for a candlelight vigil held in the Plaza downtown. We heard the prayers, we heard the names of the victims. We stood together and will continue to do so. Hate has no home here:

LAST FOUR DAYS OF ACTION!!!

We are coordinating with the Florida Democratic Party  on an effort to reach out to every Dem voter who has not yet voted starting the weekend before the election. Studies show this is a critically important time for increasing turnout, and added to all the other work we've done in this county, it could mean the difference between winning and losing.

This final stage of our BWC campaign will be run from a central staging location where volunteers will gather for 2-hour canvassing and phone banking shifts from Saturday Nov. 3rd through and including Election Day.  This is truly a call to action and we will need all hands on deck in terms of volunteers.  Please look at this SignUp Genius link and find some times that work for you!

Concert for Unity October 17 at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. Support Ges Selmont, our next Congressman from District 04!

Country Music Recording Artist and Entertainer Trey Taylor has announced that he will be performing at a fundraiser for Democratic Congressional Candidate Ges Selmont.  The event is the evening of October 17th, at the Point Vedra Concert Hall.  Local Jacksonville favorite, Ample Angst will open.

This is an exciting opportunity for the community at large to support and rally around this very important November 6th general election. Although Ges and Trey are uniquely different individuals, they share similar values regarding access to quality education, affordable healthcare, and the protection of Florida’s fragile environment.

For a limited time, general admission tickets are only $20.18 each
VIP tickets (2 drink tickets, meet and greet with Trey Taylor) are $150.00 each

Trey Taylor is a singer, composer, public speaker, philanthropist, multi-instrumentalist (He plays over nine instruments) and a true entrepreneur in entertainment. He is the youngest African American Man in Country Music History. The Denver Post wrote “It's impossible to miss his enthusiasm. With a fondness for cowboy boots, gaudy colors and dazzling jewelry, Trey Taylor could stand toe to toe with any of the Pop, Country or even Rap contemporaries of his generation and give each of them a good run for their money, a fact that hasn't been lost on audiences across the world.”
George (“Ges”) Selmont is a Ponte Vedra Beach husband and father with a history of success in law, technology, entertainment, sports and higher education. He has been married to his wife, Monika (also an attorney) for 17 years. They chose NE Florida to raise their two boys, Nate and Luke, and have happily called the First Coast home for almost nine years.
Ges is a lifelong Democrat who has always had an interest in government and public service. Ges has dedicated a great deal of his time to improving the lives of citizens, especially those in underserved communities.

YOUR WEEKLY RESISTANCE NEWSLETTER
WEEK OF OCTOBER 7, 2018

ACTION ALERT THIS WEEKEND!
Indivisible St Johns has teamed up with Blue Wave since the spring. We've participated in numerous canvasses since then. Now we're in crunch time! There are two events we MUST have volunteers for. Indivisible St Johns is responsible for these two precincts: We have everything you need! Just show up and bring a friend. Make sure you're signed up at the links below.

First, a bag drop in precinct 208. This is the Armstrong, Elkton area. It requires 2 people for each "turf", one to drive as it's a lot of rural roads and one to knock doors. It goes faster and you can tag team each house, taking turns if you like. If not, we'll team you up with someone more mobile. We can knock this out in a couple hours.
SIGN UP HERE FOR 9AM - NOON ON SATURDAY 10/13:

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409044ca4ac29a1f58-bagdrop

Second, there is a big last push canvas for precinct 207, which is West Augustine and is HUGE in numbers. Blue Wave has arranged to do literature drops at 12;30 - 3:30, prior to Jaime Perkins' big event at 4PM. This is at the Blocker-Puryear park at the corner of West King and Holmes.
