True conservatives will have to do some soul searching with this guy. He talks the talk. He walks in the shoes of Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Putin, Orban, Bosonaro. This is not a drill.

UNMasking Ron DeSantis' rational fear of guns at HIS events!
The rest of us? We're on our own.
In Defense of Gun
Control
House Bill 1543
allows 18-year-olds to own long guns.
Shootem-up Republican
Legislators and Governor Let-Them-Die DeSantis want 18-year-olds to own long
guns. Folks, that’s AR-15 assault weapons. Not hunting rifles. Killing guns.
Guns that kill children and adults in school, on the street, in church, a large
facility, the grocery store and even in the home. How about openly carrying a
gun? Yep. Need a permit? Of course not. Those same Florida Republican “Thoughts
and prayers” Legislators and Governor are all for it. Who votes for this
crowd?!
·
March 22,
2023 a high school student in Denver Colorado shot two faculty members.
·
The
United States is the only country that has more civilian-owned guns than people.
Florida’s mass
shootings in the past ten years occurred in a nightclub, a high school, an
airport and naval base. The Valentine’s Day Massacre that occurred at Marjorie
Stoneman Douglas high school shocked Florida and the nation. Students formed the March For Our Lives
marches, rallies and protests.
Student activists
with March for Our Lives will demonstrate in five U.S. state capitols this week
to mark five years since the original marches in the wake of the mass shooting
in Parkland, Florida.
DeSantis has a 100%
rating with the NRA. The Governor and
Florida Legislature plan to put more long guns in the hands of those under the
age of 19. Watch HB 1543 get passed by these clowns.
Google Mass
Shootings. You will find facts showing most shootings are done by 18, 19, and
20-year-olds. 18-20-year-olds commit gun violence and homicide three times more
than 21-year-olds.
Did the Shootem-up Florida
Republican Governor and Legislature leave their intellect at home? Did they
forget their oath to defend the people of Florida? Yes. Of course, they did!

RON DESANTIS IS AFRAID OF THE TRUTH
Teachers must rise up
and defy the dystopian society Governor Ron DeSantis has visited upon Florida public
schools, teachers, administrators, superintendents and school boards. What a
beastly regulation indeed!
Mr. Governor Freedom
is pandering to the misinformed erudite. He misrepresents any suggestion of freedom.
Freedom is a right. It also gives power. DeSantis distorts our rights assuming
he has power over curriculum taught in public schools. He does not. One
remembers reading of Hitler changing school curriculum to fit his Aryan-only
ideology. DeSantis promotes an ideology of fear. I do not fear this person who
cares nothing for students or anyone in Florida unless they buy into his
ideology of fear. He believes fear will
obfuscate societal and cultural critical thinking.

We
learned Manatee County is using Federal COVID funds to purchase “appropriate”
books after teachers stripped shelves of their professionally chosen books.
·
Duval
County banned the book by Latino baseball great, Roberto Clemente, then
reinstated it after this news went nationwide.
·
Banned
from Duval County: Letters From The
Birmingham Jail by Dr. Martin Luther King. To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, Diary of Anne Frank and The
Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison.
·
HB 1467
requires districts to catalog all books in schools. Mr. Governor Freedom denies
this fact. Perhaps he doesn’t remember?
Better watch out,
preschool teachers. Reading Pat The Bunny
to your students might result in banning the book due to the implications about
patting.
Kindergarten teachers
will think twice about reading, The
Little Engine That Could to students. Cautions believing aspiring to heights beyond
your station is acceptable when living Orwell’s 1984.
Threatened classics
that may be removed from shelves: Herman Melville, Stephen Crane, Alexis de
Tocqueville, Mark Twain, J. R.R. Tolkien, Franz Kafka, Poe, Stowe, Carroll,
Morrison, et al. Remember when the Nazis burned classics? Banning and burning
books is cowardly.
It is said, “We must
be better than the beasts.”

As we continue processing last week’s events and monitoring developments over the next few weeks, we wish we could say we were surprised. While the exact nature of the insurrection might not have been on our 2021 bingo card, the truth is that Indivisibles have known all along that this is where Trump and the GOP’s dangerous rhetoric was leading -- and that Donald Trump himself was just an avatar for the much deeper far-right sentiments that were brewing.
Our big plans for 2021 -- major democracy reform and all the progressive policies it’ll enable -- aren’t going anywhere. But for any of it to last, we have to ensure real accountability for those who’ve vowed to destroy American democracy, and that starts with Donald Trump. Our movement has what it takes to see these fights through to the end. Thanks for staying with us -- and if you're looking for another way to build pressure, call your members of Congress and ask them to take action.
Many of you, like us, may have felt overwhelmed and powerless as you sat watching the events that transpired last week. But even in our darkest moments, Indivisibles have proven that when we band together, we have the power to deliver monumental change.
Last week, we launched our latest Indivisible Guide -- A Practical Guide to Fixing our Democracy -- to help navigate the lessons from the past four years and outline the next steps we need to take to emerge from this crisis.
Get familiar with our latest Indivisible Guide. We’ve learned a lot over the last four years and have big ideas about how to make sure we’re prepared to make the most of a Democratic trifecta. Now that we have the power to enact bold, lasting change, we have to make sure our members of Congress hear our demands. Read the guide to learn about our priorities, get tips about effectively applying pressure on our elected officials, and understand the structural reforms capable of fixing our democracy.

Neighbors, If you've missed all those political candidate yard signs that seemed to be everywhere back in November, then I've got a deal for you.The Sebastian Inland Harbor PUD signs are in!If you want one of the snazzy yard signs shown below, head over to 257 Riberia ST - they're in the driveway. If you're so inclined and want to make a contribution, you can leave a few bucks in the mailbox. Fighting for neighborhood quality of life doesn't come free.
Here's the link to the PUD impact information:
Now, there are a million snide comments I could make about shrinking the PUD, but I'll just take a pass...
The Commission's "first reading" for the PUD amendment is 25 January. Please help St Augustine's City Commissioner realize this PUD is too dense, too intense and we're incensed!Feel free to forward this email. On behalf of St Augustine Residents Count and still writing poetryLee Geanuleas

and from Indivisible Action:
First, we are urging all Indivisibles to call on their member of Congress to support Trump's immediate removal. The House Judiciary Committee is now preparing impeachment articles in the event Trump's own cabinet doesn't remove him using the 25th Amendment. If impeachment is successful, we could bar Trump from every holding public office again, and we need to move quickly ad push every single MofC to speak out unequivocally in support. Impeachment votes are also in Congress's control, unlike the 25th Amendment approach, which must come from Trump's cabinet--meaning that we can use our power as constituents right now to demand an impeachment vote. Moving forward now on impeachment will force every representative to take a stand and clarify who continues to enable Trump's terrorism. Indivisible groups were instrumental in last year's push for impeachment, and we will be again. Here is the call page to share with your members to get your Members of Congress to support impeachment--please share this far and wide with your members to call right now.
