SAVE THE DATE July 10 6PM at Democratic Party HQ Environmental Caucus Candidate Meet Up

We have many concerns here in Florida over the environment and now's the time to get our candidates' positions on sea level rise, off shore drilling, fracking and a myriad of other issues affecting our district.

The Democratic Environmental Caucus of St. Johns County will hold our second Meet Up on Tuesday July 10th, 6:00, at the Democratic Party office at 71 S. Dixie Highway, St. Augustine.

The candidates participating in the Meet Up will be:

Jaime Perkins, FL. State House District 17 (Will oppose Republican Cyndi Stevenson in the November 6th General Election).
Adam Morley, FL State House District 24 (Will oppose Republican Paul Renner in the November 6th General Election).
Nancy Shaver, City of St. Augustine Commission Seat 3 (Mayor)
Nancy Sykes Kline, City of St. Augustine Commission Seat 5
IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHO YOUR FL STATE HOUSE REP IS - FOLLOW THIS LINK :

The City of St. Augustine City Commission Seats are Non-Partisan Offices voted on by residents of the City of St. Augustine. The following candidates declined attendance at our Meet Up:
Bill McClure, Seat 3 (Mayor)
Jackie Rock, Seat 3 (Mayor)
John Valdes, Seat 4
Jill Pacetti, Seat 4
Wade Ross, Seat 4
Chris Ellis, Seat 5
For Seats 3 and 4, since there are more than two candidates, all three will appear on the ballot in the August 28th Primary Election. If one candidate receives 50% Plus ONE VOTE, he/she takes the Seat. If no candidate reaches this threshold, the top two vote-getters will go to the November 6th General Election.
For Seat 5, Since there are only two candidates, they will go directly to the November 6th General Election.

As at our first Candidate Meet Up on June 11th, the meeting will be open to the public. Candidates will be seated in the front of the room, along with the Caucus Candidate Evaluators. Each candidate will be asked to speak on why our caucus should endorse him/her. The Caucus Candidate Evaluators will then question candidates, followed by questions taken from the floor. The evening will conclude with a general discussion on environmental issues.

Hope you can attend! Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
