Before the Florida legislature passed SB 7066, they tacked on a bill that will undermine Amendment 4 and result in a modern day poll tax by requiring repayment of financial obligations before returning citizens’ voting rights could be restored. This means some potential voters might have to pay thousands of dollars in fees or petition the court before they are granted the right to vote.
This unnecessary and deliberately restrictive measure is nothing more than a shameless attempt to undo the will of voters, who last November overwhelmingly passed Amendment 4 and restored voting rights to formerly incarcerated people that fully complete their sentences, including parole or probation.

Call Governor Ron DeSantis' office NOW and urge him to VETO, SB 7066:
