Florida has one of the highest levels of turtle diversity in the world, but their numbers have been decimated by vehicle collisions and the illegal wildlife trade. The Roads to Ruin would only make matters worse for Florida’s many species of turtles and reptiles. Email the Department of Transportation in defense of turtles and in opposition to the proposed toll roads at 

Read the letter we signed to Gov. DeSantis on stopping the toll roads in South Central Florida with our partners, No Roads to Ruin.

From the Democratic Environmental Caucus:

On Tuesday, June 23rd, at 6:00pm there will be a free webinar sponsored by the smart growth advocacy group, 1000 Friends of Florida:  "St. Johns County 2070: What's Next?" 

In November 2019, the Matanzas Riverkeeper, St. Johns Audubon and others joined with 1000 Friends of Florida for a discussion on growth projections for our county. 1000 Friends of Florida's Policy & Planning Director Jane West will review the results of the SJC 2020 study, smart growth policy tools and recommendations, and feedback gathered from resident workshops. This is an interactive webinar, with opportunities to ask questions of Jane. You can register by following this link
