Trump has made it clear that he'll do anything to support his Big Polluter pals by attempting to roll back, underfund, and attack our most important environmental programs. With 90% cuts to the programs that keep the Great Lakes and the Chesapeake Bay clean and 43% cuts to safeguards that keep toxins out of our air, Trump and EPA Administrator Wheeler are showing us just how little they value our air and waters. Not only that, from Texas to California to Alaska, our communities are already experiencing the impacts of climate change. Yet Trump's 2020 budget proposes devastating cuts to critical clean energy research and development programs. We simply cannot afford to gut clean energy research and delay action to fight climate change. Despite cutting the environmental programs our communities depend on, Trump's proposed 2020 budget actually dedicates billions of dollars of funding for his xenophobic and environmentally destructive border wall. We must promote policies of inclusion, safety, and security, not hate and bigotry in our immigration system. We cannot allow Trump to slash funding for environmental programs to build a symbol of hate along our southern border.  But there's hope: We have a right to participate in the budget process — Trump's budget is comprised of our tax dollars, so Congress can't support these dangerous cuts if the people show their opposition.
