IT'S UP TO US TO PROTECT WHAT WE HAVE

Democratic Environmental Caucus of St. Johns County
Tuesday, February 11, 2020
6:00 PM
Democratic Headquarters
71 South Dixie Highway, Suite 6

The guest presenters for our Tuesday, February 11th Environmental Caucus meeting will be Mark Gendzier and Virginia Quelch.

In 2015, Mark and Virginia started Citizens for a New Tree Ordinance in St. Johns County (Citz4Trees on Facebook) in the hopes of slowing the clear cutting of trees in our county as developers ignored the guidelines in the permits issued by the county ahead of approval for their projects. This 2019 St. Augustine Record article by Sheldon Leonard illustrates this pattern of code violation by developers and responses on the part of county officials.  Mark and Virginia will give an update on their efforts and offer suggestions on how our caucus can help them in their efforts going forward

This meeting is free and open to the public, caucus members and non-members alike. For more information or questions, contact Johns Pilecki, johnpilecki@gmail.com
