REPORT TO BE SUBMITTED TO ATTORNEY GENERAL IN NEXT FEW WEEKS
STAY ALERT TO PROTECT THE MUELLER INVESTIGATION!
Our plans haven't changed. Be ready to mobilize on short notice! Sign up here: Rapid Response to Firing Mueller

The new Attorney General William Barr has total discretion regarding Mueller's report to decide what is shared with whom, and when anything is shared. Almost all Americans agree that they want Mueller's report to be made fully public (80% of Republicans and almost 90% of the public at large).  Even if Barr restricts access to the report, we'll find out about any further indictments Mueller makes when he makes them. And Barr is required to make public any recommendations of Mueller's that he overrides.

If findings come that are not made public, DEMAND that Congress do everything in its power to make the report public!

NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW!!!!

CALLS TO ACTION:

Trump's National 'emergency' is an illegal, anti-democratic power grab rooted in racism.

The House and Senate voted to overturn President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency on the Mexican border.  Trump has now issued his first veto of his term but it is unclear that a two-thirds majority can be garnered to override this veto.

We’ve got to let every single member of  the Senate know that they need to fight back. Here’s how:

Call your US Senators or use our toll-free number: 1-855-980-2355 to tell them to reject Trump’s fake emergency.  Congress has an obligation to check Executive Branch abuses. They need to act to protect our democracy by overriding a certain veto of the resolution of disapproval of the national emergency declaration.

SB 7070 is scheduled to be heard in the Florida Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Education on Tuesday, March 19 at 10 AM

Calls from as many people as possible statewide TODAY AND TOMORROW are our only hope o stop the fast moving train below—SB 7070.
This will be heard Tuesday, March 19 at 10 AM.

Gruters and DeSantis are out to privatize all public education, and drain the funds from public schools.

Educated children = educated voters.

Please tell the committee members below to VOTE NO on SB7070.
This bill will destroy public education as we know it!  Contact your Florida Senators  or cut and paste email addresses below into your email address line

National Popular Vote

We’re within 89 electoral votes of the 270 required to pass the National Popular Vote if Governors in Delaware, Colorado and New Mexico sign the bill sent from their legislatures . Florida has 29 electors
Tell your Reps to support the NPV

Under the Constitution, states have the power to determine how they award their electoral votes in national elections. Most states have winner-take-all laws, which award all of its electoral votes to the presidential candidate who receives the most votes within the state. Two states, Maine and Nebraska, split their electoral votes.
The bill will only take effect, however, if the law is passed by states representing at least 270 electoral college votes, which is the amount needed to win the presidency. With the addition of Colorado, that number now sits at 181.Other jurisdictions that have enacted the legislation include Rhode Island, Vermont, Hawaii, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Washington, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, California and the District of Columbia. New Mexico, whose senate approved the legislation earlier this week, could be the next state to join.

Visit your local legislators.  During our visit to Cyndi Stevenson's office on 3/13/19, we were asked for letters of support

CALL TO ACTION: please send letters of support to Cyndi Stevenson's office for the funding she has requested for:

1. Saint Augustine Wastewater Treatment Facility
2. West Augustine Sewer System Improvements
3. Lincolnville Museum

Stevenson needs documented constituent support for these things in order to make the case to the governor.  Stevenson's aide prefers electronic communications as they are faster and easier to process and tabulate but if you prefer to write a letter or send an email that is fine too. BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR FULL ADDRESS in your communication.

If you're a constituent of Cyndi Stevenson and interested in attending, please email   andrea.degeorge@gmail.com

Still looking for a resident in Rep Renner's district to accompany another Indivisible member, so we can set up similar visits.

STATEMENT: FDP Chair Terrie Rizzo on second passing of SB 168 - Sanctuary cities

FDP Chair Terrie Rizzo released the following statement after GOP Senators again voted to advance SB 168 :

"SB 168 is a Trumpian attack on the diversity and inclusiveness that has made Florida great. This bill uses fear, hate, and lies to divide our state — and will make Florida less safe. By demagogically attacking sanctuary cities — which don't even exist in Florida — Republicans are endangering the safety of both immigrant and non-immigrant families in our state."

Restoring Voting Rights for Felons.  Call your legislators to say Florida voters voted by 64 percent to restore voting rights to most felons (exceptions for murderers and felony sex offenders).  Don't let legislators tie this up by using ambiguities to slow down the process of restoring voting rights to felons.
Voter Registration Training for outreach to those eligible for restoration of Voting Rights, thanks to Amendment 4.

Gary Farris heads up voter registration for the St. Johns Democratic Party.  He is currently holding a number of training session for people who are interested in reaching out to former felons.   His regular training sessions are the first  Wednesday of the month at 2:30 PM at Democratic Headquarters or by appointment.  If you are interested in assisting Gary with this effort, please contact him at 904-599-6241 or glandlkfarris@comcast.net
