We the People Act HR1 was introduced on the first day of the new congress speaking to the moment that we are fed up with corruption unfolding in DC and in state Capitols.

It is the biggest reform package in more than 40 years.

HR1 includes:

• Same Day Registration
• VRA re-instatement was struck down in 2013 SCOTUS decision
• Campaign Finance Reform and small donor public financing
• Anti-corruption and ethics reform including foreign and domestic lobbying
• Insuring the SCOTUS has a code of ethics

• Everyone needs to email, call, and post about HR1. Get on social media. This is

• Please take action this way:
  
  
  1. Write a letter to the editor! Go to www.wedemanddemocracy.org  and there is a sample for you! Takes 15 minutes. Being in the papers is really important because legislators see this.
  2. Signup to plan an event during recess, President’s Day week. There are four types of events you can have and put on our website:
  1. If your congressperson opposes (local Reps Rutherford and Waltz), organize a protest at their office in district saying you want them on board. Fill out the form on the website and get it on the map and they will help drive people to the event. www.Wedemanddemocracy.org
  2. If they are in support, you can do a press event at the office. Put it on our map at the link above.
  3. Have a Town Hall - a A Town Hall is the best thing we can do. Recess is Feb 15-25. We need to hold their feet to fire. We need to hold them accountable. In many districts, they will hold the Town Halls anyway.   4. Empty Chair Town Hall - Have one of these if the Rep. is not having one. Have press coverage. We have more power with the press because we are not paid.
